1. How did they meet?

They first met at Dave and Duane's party (October, 1997), but didn't really start spending serious time together until November. Clare was Diana's roommate, who is a also a friend of Jeff's.

2. How did Jeff propose?

Jeff had been telling Clare that a proposal wasn't in the cards until well after Christmas,  in an attempt to surprise her as much as possible.   In the mean time, he had actually designed the ring himself and had it made.   Jeff always brought Clare flowers when she arrived the Toronto airport. On this particular day in December of 1998, he brought half a dozen red roses with a single white rose hidden in behind. A piece of white silk ribbon was tied to the ring, then to the rose, and then ended up as a bow around everything. You couldn't tell there was a white rose, or that the ribbon was tied to anything.

Jeff picked her up at the airport, and Clare took the flowers, put them on top of the suitcases, and that was it. He kept one eye on them regardless. They went for a drink, and all the way there she was playing and pulling at the ribbon on the flowers, making Jeff extremely nervous.

Clare wanted to go and visit Diana. Jeff was trying to figure out a way to get her near Dave and Duane's old place (where they first met) and she supplied a reason to get close. On their way back, Jeff told her that he wanted to stop and get a drink (at the convenience store across from Dave and Duane's).

When Jeff was getting out to go to the store, Clare was seriously yanking at the ribbon, and noticed the white rose - "Hey, there's a white rose in here" were her words. At that point Jeff got back into the car, and asker her to marry him, as she was already well into finding the ring.

3. Where are they going on there honeymoon?

Jeff & Clare will be going to a nice warm island called "Pangkor Laut" off the coast of Malaysia.  Check out the Pangkor Laut Resort web site and book a room right next to them.  I'm sure they'll appreciate the surprise.

4. Where will they live?

Clare will be joining Jeff in downtown Toronto.  For now, they'll be living in the apartment Jeff currently shares with Stuart.  Stuart will be moving out the weekend after the wedding.  Jeff and Clare will restart their house-hunting escapade soon after returning from the honeymoon.
